Decent program, some minor issues

I enrolled in the Professional Aromatherapy Certification Program and overall, it's been a good experience. The course material is thorough, and I feel like I'm getting a solid education in aromatherapy. The online platform is mostly user-friendly, though I did run into a few glitches with video playback occasionally, which was a bit annoying. Customer service was responsive when I had questions about the curriculum, but it took them a couple of days to get back to me. The value for the money is there, especially with the depth of the content, but I wish the technical side was a little smoother. Still, I'm learning a lot and that's what counts.

Good course for beginners

I just finished the Essential Oil Safety Course and it was pretty straightforward. The online format worked well with my schedule, which was a big plus. Everything was easy to understand, and I feel much more confident about using essential oils safely now.

Always a solid choice

This was my third course with Essence of Thyme; I just wrapped up the Hydrosols Course. Like my previous experiences with their Professional Aromatherapy Certification and the Essential Oil Chemistry Module, the content was really well-organized and the instructors know their stuff. I appreciate the consistency in quality, which is why I keep coming back. The portal is easy to navigate, and access to materials is always smooth. They consistently deliver what they promise.

How long does it typically take to finish one of the certification programs? I'm trying to figure out my schedule.

N Nick Martinez 2 weeks ago
It really depends on how much time you put in. The Professional program, I think, they say can be done in about a year if you're consistent.

M Mary Nguyen 2 weeks ago
Yeah, it's self-paced online, so you can go faster or slower. I took a bit longer because of life stuff, but it was fine.

Is the Professional Aromatherapy Certification actually recognized? Like by industry groups or whatever? Just want to make sure it's legit.

J Jeff H. 2 weeks ago
From what I remember researching, they're recognized by NAHA and AIA, which are pretty big deals in aromatherapy. So yeah, legit.

Totally. I've seen their grads get good gigs, and those accreditations mean a lot in the field.

I'm looking at Essence of Thyme vs. Aromahead. Any thoughts on which one is better for someone just starting out?

J Josh 3 weeks ago
I considered Aromahead too, but Essence of Thyme felt more comprehensive for me, especially the science stuff. Plus, their mentorship options are great.

Both are good, honestly. Essence of Thyme felt a bit more academic to me, which I liked. Aromahead is also highly respected though.

Do they offer payment plans? I'm interested in the Master Aromatherapist Program but paying for it all upfront might be tough.

Z Zach Parker 3 weeks ago
Yep, they do. I'm on a payment plan for one of their courses right now. Just be aware that some discounts only apply to full payments.

I used a payment plan for the Clinical Aromatherapy course. It made it way more manageable for me.

What's their refund policy like? Just in case something comes up and I can't continue a course.

B Brittany Roberts 3 weeks ago
I think you have a limited window, like a week or two, to get a full refund after enrolling if you haven't started much of the material. After that, it might be partial or none.

B Brandon King 3 weeks ago
Yeah, check the terms. It's usually pretty standard for online courses – full refund early on, then it gets trickier.

Are the essential oil kits included in the tuition for the Professional Aromatherapy course, or do you have to buy those separately?

M Megan D. 3 weeks ago
Nah, those are usually separate. They'll tell you what oils you need for practical work, but you source them yourself. Sometimes they recommend suppliers.

E Emily L. 3 weeks ago
No, the kits aren't included. It's tuition for the learning materials and instruction. You're responsible for getting your own oils.

Anyone know if you get a student discount? I'm a college student and always looking for ways to save money.

A Alex C. 4 weeks ago
I don't recall seeing a specific 'student discount' like for a regular university. They have alumni discounts, though.

A Amanda Phillips 3 weeks ago
I think they do have some kind of student membership discount, but it's not like a standard university student ID discount. You'd have to check their FAQs directly for that.

Hey, thinking of signing up for the Professional Aromatherapy program. Does Essence of Thyme ever do sales on that one? Like for Black Friday or something?

R Richard N. 1 week ago
Yeah, they totally do! I snagged the Professional program with a decent discount during their Black Friday sale last year. Keep an eye out around November.

P Patricia 1 week ago
They often have early bird deals too, not just Black Friday. I think I saved a couple hundred bucks signing up early for a different course.
